The most important factors for the cost development
of a tattoo removal

We consider general statements regarding tattoo removals untrustworthy. At tattoolos every offer is preceded by an individual consultation and a free trial treatment. We here gathered the most important factors for the price development of a tattoo removal. Of course, the used laser is also a key factor. Only high-quality laser systems with sufficient energy supply and variable spot sizes reduce the number of treatments and lower costs.

There are different provider in the market with different technology and training. We do not want to be defined by pricing, because high-quality laser technology and qualified training should be the basis for a laser treatment on your body.

To us, quality comes first. That is why we distance ourselves from all-inclusive prices for different tattoos and skin types.

Before you decide on a treatment, please consider apart from pricing also quality and hygiene standards of studios, as well as applied laser technology. Laser systems in the size of a shoebox often do not deliver the required power for a successful tattoo removal. If you do not notice your tattoo fading after the first treatments, you should consider to continue your treatments at another studio.Because the tattoo should fade considerably after the first few sessions. In that case, there might be inferior and inefficient technology involved. Please do not trust any creams or other treatment promises. Only the tattoo removal with laser has proven its efficacy and promises a scar-free and effective treatment with little pain. We are happy to give you a free consultation and offer an individual cost proposal.

The more time you spent at the tattoo artist’s,
the more time you should allow for your tattoo removal.

HOW DO WE CALCULATE THE COST?

The bigger the tattoo, the longer the removal takes - especially, if it contains a larger colourful area. The more colour pigments the skin has absorbed, the more effort the removal takes. Also the age plays an important role. Usually, the younger a tattoo is, the easier it can be removed. Exceptions are older, badly done or already faded tattoos. If the tattoo is still very new, it can be completely removed after a few treatments. This can only be said with certainty for professional tattoos.

Amateurs and badly trained tattoo artists often insert the colour into the wrong skin layer. If the tattoo is placed too superficially, the colour can easily “bleed out”. If it is done too deeply, the removal can be very difficult, because the small colour nodules are stored in the fat layer. Luckily, this mostly happens in very few single spots. The used tattoo ink also contributes to how easily it can be removed and the height of the costs. Until a couple of years ago there were no restrictions regarding the composition of tattoo ink and even today, it contains many unknown substances.

With lighter colours, such as yellow red or light green the removal also takes longer. It is possible, that even after the average amount of sessions (between eight and twelve treatments) some ink residue may remain in the skin. These would have to be removed with an additional laser (e.g. 4 wavelength laser). Every laser works in different wave range and is for colours more suitable than for others. As a rule of thumb you can estimate:

If you want to prepare your tattoo for a cover-up, it usually takes only between two to four treatments. The skin texture and applied colour amount determine, how much time has to pass between each laser treatment and how quickly the intensity of the laser can be increased from session to session. Depending on the skin type this process can be done quicker or more slowly and thus requires more or fewer treatments. The removal of permanent make-up is a special case. In the face our laser experts have to be even more cautious than at less exposed areas.

This is why we as premium provider for tattoo and permanent make- removal only make you an individual offer after we have seen your tattoo personally and conducted a free trial treatment. To still give you an idea how different factors influence your result and and cost, we here gathered some examples from our specialized tattoolos studios.
